Wild Purple Iris, Acrylic, 6" x 6",sold

This surely is the wildest Iris I have painted. I also painted the background with Gold paint. I am interested in using Gold Leaf or Metal leaf. Has anyone used Gold Leaf? I would be so interested in how you used it. I would love to hear from you. I am working on Three Plums and I am really happy with it. The colors are as calm as this painting is wild. The weather is gorgeous today, totally different than yesterday. I wish you all a wonderful day.

What I did today

I did not paint today. Ho Hum, I cleaned. I cleaned the studio. I can just look at the mess so long. It is looking good now and I am happy. Roasted a chicken and cooked carrots and green beans, Yummy. After dinner I came into the studio and painted on a 22" x 22" scarf. It is a dragon, I love dragons. I got about half done and I am happy. I am off to bed to read and later to sleep. Good Night Everyone. Did I tell you I am happy. I love looking at artists blogs. Tonight I looked at Karin Jurick's blog. Oh what wonderful paintings she does, just beautiful.

Bananas and Fruit and Glass Bowl, Oil, Sold

A while ago I put all my banana paintings together so you could see the series as a whole. I could not find an image of this particular painting but lo and behold I managed to find it and upload it so you could all see it. I work in series of eight so I still have two more to go. This painting is sold and the owners are very happy

Zucchini on Red Mug, 6"x6", Acrylic

Here is one of our zucchinis from the garden, in full glory. All my small paintings are framed with a small gold frame, a nice finish I think. I would love all comments as I really am enjoying doing these. I also have paypal so anyone interested in buying one of my small paintings can reach me at my email jeannejohn@comcast.net

A wonderful Day

Thursday is always a special day. The painting class starts a 9:30 am and everyone happy and ready to paint. Today was our last class until we start our fall session on September 10th. Everyone wanting to finish up what they were painting so they can start something new in Sept. Today was Carol's day to "cook". She made a simply delicious Oriental salad and Pot Stickers. Both were terrific but we all wanted to know how to do these Pot Stickers. A tasty dessert finished up the great meal. We all feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful group. We love the women who run the store and we thank Jennifer, the manager and Guylaine and Kim and our wonderful Roger for all the help they give us. Without them we would be somewhat lost.

Monhegan Island, Maine, Acrylic, 11" x 14"

Monhegan Island, Maine is one of my favorite places to paint en plein air. A wonderful island ten miles from the coast of Maine. I have been to this island three times and just loved it every single time. A very special island

Yellow Pepper, Acrylic, 7" x 5"

Just finished this pepper. I am happy. I wish I could do one a day as I would like to be part of the painting a day group. I guess all I can do is keep trying. Last night I went to Karate with my grandsons and daughters. I took a 45 minute class. It was a blast and lots of laughing. My 12 year old grandson was absolutely ecstatic. "This is my Memere." I will never forget the wonderful love I felt in that class.
