Balancing Pear, Oil, 5" x 5", sold

Here is my second little oil, Balancing Pear. I am happy with it. Painting small is really a delight and I thank all my friends who have encouraged me. Tonight I have almost finished a 22" x 22" silk scarf. It is already 8 pm so not sure I will be able to stay up to finish it totally.
Tomorrow I have to bring Missy in for her yearly physical.
Today my grandson came over for the day. He was so funny and happy to see us. Missy was overjoyed to see him and gave him a great welcome.

Bryce Canyon, Oil, Image size 20" x 28"

Apple Blossoms, Oil, Image size 20" x 28"

Today I decided to finish my oil painting of Apple Blossoms. The image size is 20"x28" and framed it is 21 1/2" x 29 1/2". I really am happy with this painting. I have another painting that I really finished and that is a tree at Bryce Canyon, an oil, Image size 20" x 28", framed size 21 1/2" x 29 1/2". Both paintings are $900 each. It feels good to finish these two paintings. I need to concentrate on the scarves but this weekend I didn't paint my daily paintings and I missed doing that so much. So this morning before anything else I finished a 5"x5"oil Pear on Purple. As soon as it is dry enough I will post it.

Red Tomato, Oil, 5" x 5",sold

Here it is the first small oil painting, Red Tomato, 5" x 5". $75. I am just so excited about doing a small painting. At the beginning of my doing small paintings I was totally not able to paint small. I love big and I painted big but now I am so enjoying these small pieces. I also have to thank one and all who have emailed me or made comments. It is the most wonderful feeling knowing you have artist friends out there rooting for you and the biggest thing is being able to go visit all of you on your magnificent blogs.

A wonderful Day

Thursday is always a special day. The painting class starts a 9:30 am and everyone happy and ready to paint. Today was our last class until we start our fall session on September 10th. Everyone wanting to finish up what they were painting so they can start something new in Sept. Today was Carol's day to "cook". She made a simply delicious Oriental salad and Pot Stickers. Both were terrific but we all wanted to know how to do these Pot Stickers. A tasty dessert finished up the great meal. We all feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful group. We love the women who run the store and we thank Jennifer, the manager and Guylaine and Kim and our wonderful Roger for all the help they give us. Without them we would be somewhat lost.

I'm on vacation visiting my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

Here is a piece I did that I gave to my daughter, Roxy's mom. It is mixed medium. It has a bit of everything in it. The colors are hard to photograph well, but I wanted to show it to you.

When I return, I am planning on giving my blog a new look. Hope to see you then.

One Year on the 7th of May

One year ago I was busy packing for the trip of a lifetime. This year, happy memories are traveling through my brain. Last year at this time the weather was great, I was well and so was Paul. This year Paul has a terrible cold and the weather is wild out west and very cold here in NH. Last year everything was perfect, the stars were lined up, the moon was bright, the sun shined brilliantly during the day. All was set and all was perfect. Next year we hope to do another wonderful trip, but for now we have happy memories and dreams for another wonderful trip in 2009.
