This painting is also going to be in the Food show. The painting is the inside of a pumpkin and painted in oil. I happen to love this painting. I love painting different Squash. The size is 29" x 25" framed.

Sunflower with Purple, 6"x6",SOLD

Here is my third small painting. I love doing these and have the next one ready to go. I also am almost done my third silk scarf. EW Poore Gallery just sold another one today. It will be hard for me not to show my scarves until the November show. Oh well, will just have to do it. My framer just made a new frame for me to stretch a square scarf on. I am excited and plan to stretch as soon as I finish this blog.

Mushrooms, 6" x 6", Acrylic,sold

Yesterday I painted the Mushrooms. I was pretty happy with it. I think next time I will do less background. Doing a painting everyday is actually a little hard but really gets you going. I did another one today and will post it tomorrow. I am trying not to noodle and to place the color and leave. For a perfectionist this is not easy.

White Iris, 6" x 6"

I am trying to do a 6" x6" painting a day. Here is my first one, White Iris, Acrylic, July 6, 2009.
I am also painting a 24" x 24" Sunflower and Blue Vase. It is looking good so far and I am also working on a silk scarf 11" x 58". Having a good day and enjoying my summer. I like working on my scarves in the evening. I realized that when I work on satin, I really have to be heavy with the resist.
The weather is gorgeous sunny and not to hot. It is not raining, how wonderful.

Series of Banana Paintings, Oils, All Sold

Tina's Barn

This is the second in a series of barns that I am doing. I will do some inside of barns and some windows etc. I'll use acrylic for these not too large paintings. The studio is clean and ready to go.
I am also doing a collage with bird nest as the theme.

The Barn, Goffstown, NH

Every year we feature an artist in our gallery. This year I did three buildings in Acrylic. First The Barn and then Monhegan Island, Maine Wash Day, and then another barn, Tina's Barn. I enjoyed doing these three paintings, they are very different for me. I will send pictures of the other two paintings soon.

I can't believe I have been so behind on this blog. Forgive me. So much has happened and so much work has had to be done. Our friend Jill has been very sick and we have been visiting her at Mass General Hospital, very hard to see this wonderful woman sick. Say a prayer for her.

Missy and Morning Glories, framed and ready,sold

Here is Missy and Morning Glories all framed and ready for the NHSPCA auction at East Colony Fine Art Gallery. This is going to be exciting and I almost don't want to sell it, but if I do that will be good too.
I am doing an oil painting of Apple Blossoms and I am going to photograph it for the blog. I took a break from the leaves scarf to work on this painting. I also had the Tree at Bryce Canyon framed and will photograph that too.
It is mighty cold here but still no snow.

Saturday and feeling very lazy

It's 11:50 am and I am still in my pajamas and have not done anything but read my emails and answer them. I am going to wash and stretch a 30" x 30" silk scarf and start to paint it. I am also going to take pictures so you can watch my progress. That is it folks, just tune in to see the progression. Love

Missy and Morning Glories, Painted on Silk, sold

Missy and Morning Glories is a painting done on silk. I am framing this silk scarf for our opening at our East Colony Fine Art Gallery. The profits of our sales will benefit the SPCA. The opening will be the beginning of November 2008. I am having a great time with these silk paintings. The scarf size is 22" x 22" and with the mat and frame should be about 29" x 29". Would like some comments on this latest painting of mine.

On Vacation

I'm on vacation visiting my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

Here is a piece I did that I gave to my daughter, Roxy's mom. It is mixed medium. It has a bit of everything in it. The colors are hard to photograph well, but I wanted to show it to you.

When I return, I am planning on giving my blog a new look. Hope to see you then.

One Year on the 7th of May

One year ago I was busy packing for the trip of a lifetime. This year, happy memories are traveling through my brain. Last year at this time the weather was great, I was well and so was Paul. This year Paul has a terrible cold and the weather is wild out west and very cold here in NH. Last year everything was perfect, the stars were lined up, the moon was bright, the sun shined brilliantly during the day. All was set and all was perfect. Next year we hope to do another wonderful trip, but for now we have happy memories and dreams for another wonderful trip in 2009.

Spring Cleaning

I have not been painting for 2 weeks because I am doing some thing awful, called spring cleaning. I like to read and had so many books piled here and there and I like nice clothes so my closets were bulging, so cleaning and clearing out had to happen. I gave four boxes of clothes away and gave two big bags of books to our local hospital. Still have 5 stacks to give away. I'll be calling my friends to ask them to come and look over the stacks and take what they want. I also have about 8 art books that I am going to give to some of my students. I want to share lots of books so this will be an ongoing, give to friends. It feels good. It also feels great having one room totally clean, windows and mirrors, closet and drawers. So freeing, but now I have three paintings screaming to get out, first the tree to finish and a 24 x 36" painting of the Burr Trail, Utah and my biker son Paul. I am really excited about this one. The last one is going to be abstract, it will be a long thinking one.

The painting is a tree and view of Brice Canyon, Utah. The roots are huge and all above ground on rock. the distance view is of Brice. I hope I can make this look great.

The beginning of a new painting

I started this painting last week but I have been really slow lately. I want to paint today so will make this blog short. This has been quite a winter. Cold, snowy, rainy, raw, just a tough winter. It is soup weather, and I have been making lots of soups and stews and homemade bread. Today I am making Grecian Lamb Stew for tomorrow. Tonight we are going to my daughters for Homemade meatballs and spareribs on Spaghetti. I made some cloverleaf rolls and we will also have garlic bread and a special dessert. Sounds good doesn't it? When my daughter asks us to dinner we very quickly say yes because when she cooks it is always good very, very good. Now I am off to paint. To all my friends and bloggers have a happy weekend.

A Heart from two Giraffes

Good Morning, the sun is shining but it is very cold. Missy and I are off to teach but first wanted you to see these giraffes. They are a baby gift for someone very special. John mailed it out yesterday and I am happy and anxious for the new baby to see his giraffes. I used acrylic and collage and am very excited about how they came out. have a great day.

Mark emailed this morning to tell me the name of this cliff. I am finished and very happy. Starting my next one tonight. I also finished a couple of giraffes for a friend of mine who just had a baby boy.
It is raining here and I think very raw. Yuk

Sunday Rest

Today was a rest day for me. I painted pretty much all day yesterday and then went back to my studio after supper and painted until 9 pm. Slept like a rock. My painting is looking good and tomorrow I will paint a good part of the day. I should finish Zion National Park I. I'll take pictures and upload to this blog.
We went to an art opening and had a wonderful time, visiting and talking to artist friends. We got back and decided to make popcorn and a drink and watch Michael Clayton. What a good movie, all the actors were wonderful. Tildy, certainly deserved an Oscar, actually they all did.

A new painting

On Friday I told John that I had a painting in me that was screaming to get out. I started this painting and worked on it for four hours. Today I worked on it another four hours. I am so happy with it. I am using Acrylics, I love the feel of acrylics and the colors. Starting this painting with orange has been a lot of fun. The Image is 36" x 24".

We had a wonderful time at our Art Weekend. We talked and talked. We ate and ate, it was just wonderful and a great time was had by all. I am in the mood again to paint. Have a couple of pictures of Zion National Park and raring to go.

My Artist Friends

Aren't we gorgeous? Next weekend is our yearly get together. We paint, we talk, we eat wonderful food made by one of the artist, a fabulous Italian woman who cooks like a dream. We take long walks and watch some good movies. Four days of laughter and happiness and love and respect. xx

Capital Reef and Escalante,Utah

It's been awhile since I have written in my blog. Have lots to say. Sunday we all went to my Aunt's 100th birthday party. It was a grand affair and my aunt as bright and beautiful as any 50 year old. What a wonderful family. I am so proud of them all.
As for art work, I have sold two of my newest acrylic paintings. Both Utah scenes, Capital Reef, Utah and Escalante, Utah. I am thrilled, my first time using acrylics. I have had these paintings photographed so I will include them with this blog. Sorry I could not use the photographs from my photographer. These are from the gallery. I have so much to do and have so much I want to paint. My next painting is a scene from Zion National Park.
