Sorry for all this.This photo is not very good but the colored pencil drawing is.  I am having a real hard time to get my photos.  Since now that the blog information has so changed I am having a wicked time downloading my newer photos.  When the blog had one word browse  I could just upload what I wanted but not now.  I am very frustrated.
Enough complaining.  I have been drawing lots more than painting.  I am really loving going back to my drawing.  I have at least four new CP drawings to share with you when I learn how to download them.

Be patient with me.  I will figure it out.

Egplants

Hi Everyone, Sorry I am so behind.  Here is a painting of Eggplants that I really had fun painting.  In fact I have done two of them and they both sold.  My opening at East Colony Fine Art on Friday night went really well.  My partner Joan  and I made a great duo.  I am a little behind as I would like to upload the drawings I did for the show but can't seem to do it.  I showed all colored pencils and I sure would like to show you.  Till then, have a wonderful weekend.

I am still struggling with this new way of uploading new images on this blog.  I have a friend coming this weekend to help me out. I am also on Daily Paintworks but I have yet to upload an image.  My grandson has come back from a beautiful trip to Europe with People to People Group.  He had a great time and is having a sleep over with John and me.  I just love my grandchildren and my children too of course.

Fall Leaves

Wow, I have not been on my blog for a long time and trying to get on today has been a real challenge.
I had to answer all these questions on who I am and what I do. Whew.  I am here.  Thank God

 Fall Leaves

I loved drawing these fall leaves using my colored pencils.
Actually the green leaf is about 6" x 6" and is sold.
The golden leaf is about 12" x 9" and is also sold.  They looked so great framed.  I was encouraged to do more drawings and did another one , larger and has a little oil pastels rubbed into the colored pencils.  Oil pastels is just wonderful with Prismacolors as
they are both oil based and both can be deluded with solvent.
This always surprises my artists ( I have learned not to call my students, students, but to call them artists as I learn from them as much as they learn from me).  Some times I forget but I try not to call them students.  I have the most wonderful bunch of artists any
one can have.

Seeds for Thought is an older drawing I did quite awhile ago.  I have some of my newer drawings but I just can't seem to upload them.  I am going to need help.  Until then I wish all my friends who are mother's a very
Happy Mother's Day and even my friends who are not mothers I wish you all a wonderful day.
We are going to M's house for our traditional Waffle Brunch made by my son in law.  We will also have strawberries and sour cream and brown sugar.  It usually is a great day.  We have our friends M and D and their darling little son N joining us.  This child is so loved and so adorable.  It will be a very happy day.  We are all thrilled to have a baby in our family again.

Paperwhites and Bottles is a colored pencil drawing, quite large 20" x 30".  I have gone back to using colored pencils again.  It is great to be back.

New Drawings, Prismacolor Pencils

First I want to apologize for my absence.  It was a long winter with lots of unexpected things taking my time and my energy.  I am back on track and hope to be a regular again.

Zucchini on Red Fiesta, Acrylic

I like Balancing Pepper and this Zucchini on Red together. They really look good and they have the same frame. I have had a very busy time of it and have not painted this weekend but I am planning on painting tomorrow. Have a good holiday to every one.

Balancing Act, Acrylic

Here is a 6" x 6" acrylic I finished this morning. I am working on my painting for the Art ala Carte that will be opening on Nov 3rd. It will be a fun show as everyone in the gallery chose a restaurant or bakery to paint part of or all of. Food will be spectacular. Everyone welcome.

This Summer's Lily, Acrylic

After many long days of not painting I am now back in business. I am feeling good and very happy. This little painting is 6" x 8" on canvas and has a small gold frame. I am happy to be back. See you again soon.

The First Painting I Did for the 2011 Art Show

The first painting I did for Cheryl and my feature show for 2011 at East Colony Fine Art. This is called Close Call. Brad named I had no idea on what to name it. Close Call is a very appropriate title. Thanks Brad.

Lily White

Lily White is an oil painting I did a while ago. I photographed this lily at my sister's house. It was one of the first paintings I hung at East Colony Fine Art Gallery. My son saw it and bought it right away. It is now hanging in Oregon. Nice home for it.

Superior Intelligence

When I did this oil stick painting my daughter M. loved it so much. To her it was a dragon and she loves dragon so of course I gave it to her. It is still hanging in a her living room and she still loves.
I painted yesterday. I finished two 6" x 6" landscape and I totally forgot to photograph them. I am hoping someone in the gallery will photograph them for me.

The Dream
I've done a lot more oil sticks but I do want to now get into what I am doing now. It took me so long to get better from the two pulmonary embolism. I feel as I have fallen way behind. Now with the feature show coming up I have six new paintings to show you, but not just yet. I'll be hanging the show on June 27th and the opening is July 8th.

My Oil Stick Paintings

Oil Sticks or Oil Bars or Paintsticks are all pretty much the same. Oil Sticks are oil paint in a stick form with a little of wax. They come in three shapes small, medium and large. R&F Pigment Sticks are the absolutely best you can buy. The colors are so pure and so rich and the more you rub them on your canvas or board the juicier they get. you can blend one color into another, you can use a palette knife or a brush, anything you want to use you can. Using oil sticks after years of using colored pencils you can imagine I felt wild and wonderful. The first picture is a painting I did for my Aunt Irene when she died I started painting with my paintsticks and this painting emerged and I realized that there was a figure in the painting. I told my husband it was Irene's Journey to God. I truly loved my aunt very very much. The second painting is my interpretation of a sunrise. I just loved this painting. I like painting when I can express myself easily, without a struggle. Not all paintings flow out of me some I have to work very hard at. .Tomorrow is my husband's birthday. Happy Birthday Dear Love.

Red Pepper

Red Pepper is an oil sticks painting. This painting is in the private collection of Southern NH University in Manchester. I am very proud of this painting and that it is in the private collection of the University.
I painted today and am almost ready for Cheryl's and my feature artist show. The opening reception is on Friday July 8, 2011, 4 pm to 7 pm.

Turban Squash 1

Today has been a wonderful day. We had friends over for brunch and food was so good and company was just fabulous.
This was the first Turban Squash I did in Oil Sticks. It is about 30" x 40".

It is June 1,2011, Time moves along at such a quick pace, it is hard to keep track. Here is the first oil sticks painting I did. I love vegetables and I love painting them or drawing them. This squash was a great deal of fun painting. Hope you enjoy it.

Three Old Friends

It's May 30th and I have not posted for a long while. I can't say why, I think I was a little traumatized with a sudden illness at the end of July. BUT I am back and feeling very good. I am painting again. My feature artist show at the East Colony Fine Art Gallery will be opening on July 8th. My partner is Cheryl V. and she is a great painter so I have to be sharp. I am happy to be back and to visit all my blogger friends. Three Old Friends is a watercolor and colored pencil drawing. It's an old one, and I am showing it because I have been getting a lot of inquiries about teaching more colored pencils.
I will continue my looking back on my artwork and next will be Oil Sticks. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Remembering Georgia

Remembering Georgia is a colored pencil and oil pastels drawing. I enjoy combining the colored pencils with the oil pastels. Prismacolor pencils are an oil based pencil and can be used with a little turpentine and of course oil pastels can also be thinned with turp. I take a small jar and put in some cotton balls and a little turp then when you dip your Prismacolor pencil into the jar you get a smooth and bright color. If you have any questions about this process just leave a comment and I will answer your questions.

Diana's Shells

Three things that I like to draw or paint, Sunflowers, shells, and fish. It has been a lovely day. A very good friend came over to paint. We seemed to get a lot done. I am also feeling lots better. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving. A wonderful happy day for our family.

Paperwhites and Tapestry

I love both paperwhites and I love this tapestry. This is a large Prismacolor pencil drawing. It is really funny I used to draw very large drawings and loved doing them but had to stop as my wrist was bothering me so much. I worked hard with stretching and exercises for my wrist, arms and shoulders. I work very hard with yoga stretching. It is very important that you as an artist learn to take care of your body. I think Yoga is the way to go. I have this wonderful yoga teacher now and she has helped me so much. Love to you all. Jeanne

This Shawl is a beautifully knotted very old shawl. Enjoy, it is done in Prismacolor colored pencils. This shawl is for sale, the woman who owned it is in a retirement home and no place to hang it. If anyone is interested please email me.
