Here is the second of my Two Green Tomato series. I am happy with these. All the paintings I show on this blog are framed and ready to hang. I need to get an ebay account and an Esty account. I am all set with paypal, I need my daughter to help me get these accounts going, sorry but I am not confident about doing this alone. Maybe tomorrow I will give ebay a chance. Finished two scarves yesterday and have two more stretched and ready to draw and wax and paint. I expect I will have photographs ready for my Izolajeanne blog tomorrow.
I did these oils a while ago. I have been trying to upload new images and just couldn't do it. That is why I have not been on my blog. A little check mark was all I needed to do. Three days it took me to figure that out. Whew
Here is my second little oil, Balancing Pear. I am happy with it. Painting small is really a delight and I thank all my friends who have encouraged me. Tonight I have almost finished a 22" x 22" silk scarf. It is already 8 pm so not sure I will be able to stay up to finish it totally. Tomorrow I have to bring Missy in for her yearly physical. Today my grandson came over for the day. He was so funny and happy to see us. Missy was overjoyed to see him and gave him a great welcome.
Today I decided to finish my oil painting of Apple Blossoms. The image size is 20"x28" and framed it is 21 1/2" x 29 1/2". I really am happy with this painting. I have another painting that I really finished and that is a tree at Bryce Canyon, an oil, Image size 20" x 28", framed size 21 1/2" x 29 1/2". Both paintings are $900 each. It feels good to finish these two paintings. I need to concentrate on the scarves but this weekend I didn't paint my daily paintings and I missed doing that so much. So this morning before anything else I finished a 5"x5"oil Pear on Purple. As soon as it is dry enough I will post it.
Here it is the first small oil painting, Red Tomato, 5" x 5". $75. I am just so excited about doing a small painting. At the beginning of my doing small paintings I was totally not able to paint small. I love big and I painted big but now I am so enjoying these small pieces. I also have to thank one and all who have emailed me or made comments. It is the most wonderful feeling knowing you have artist friends out there rooting for you and the biggest thing is being able to go visit all of you on your magnificent blogs.
Here are the plums I had a hard time painting them. Some days are harder than others. It has been a slow day too. I need a good book. Classes start next week and I am looking forward to seeing all my friends/students. I am looking forward to my next painting and maybe that one will pull me out of this slump.
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. I went to college when I was 37 years old. I loved it so much, I was a sponge and absorbed anything and everything about art. I started out wanting to be a portrait artist but ended up using pencil and colored pencils. I made quite a name for myself with my drawings. I won many awards. When I needed a break from that I went into oil sticks and just loved them and again did very well with awards. I finally went back to my oils but always felt frustrated with them I wanted to be free from all constraints, I am now working in acrylics and loving them. So now the sky is the limit. I just want to go and do everything I feel and want to express.
